Julie Young

Julie Young

Julie Young is a visual artist based in Northern Colorado, though her creative journey has been shaped by the many places she has lived and traveled. After growing up in Indiana, she later spent time in Florida and the Big Island of Hawaii, and she moved to Colorado in 2022 to further pursue her visual art and circus-arts career. Each of these experiences has infused Julie’s work with a deep appreciation for movement, energy, and the unseen connections that weave through life.

Her art explores the balance between the spiritual world, the circus, metaphysics, and the complexities of human existence. Through various mediums – primarily acrylic paint – Julie creates vibrant and whimsical works that seek to enlighten hearts and bring joy to herself and to those who experience her art. With bold colors, crisp lines, and fluid, dreamlike designs, her paintings, murals, and sculptures are inspired by dreams, meditation, folklore, and her imaginative perspective on the world around and within us. In addition to her original pieces, Julie also loves working on commissioned paintings and murals, helping bring others’ visions to life.

Juie’s work has been displayed in numerous galleries throughout the Midwest, including The Harrison Center for the Arts, The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, The Primary Colors Gallery, and Garfield Park Art Center. Beyond galleries, she has shared her art at music and arts festivals such as Sonic Bloom, Resonance Music and Arts Festival, Rootwire Transformational Arts Festival, Good People Good Times, and The Werk Out Festival, using these immersive spaces to connect with new audiences.

In addition to painting, Julie’s artistic practice extends into face painting, balloon twisting, costume making, sculpting, henna tattoos, caricature portraits, art lessons, and live painting. She finds deep fulfillment in creative opportunities that engage both children and adults, allowing artistic energy to flow freely across all ages. Julie never limits her art to a single medium or space—instead, she seeks to expand my reach globally, inspiring others to create, learn, and grow through artistic expression.
