Abbey’s inspiration is drawn largely from the views she grew up with as a child in the heart of the Rocky Mountains and “alpenglow”, the entrancing phenomenon of the tops of peaks glowing red and yellow during sunrise or sunset. Her intention while painting is to put a frame to the art already created by the earth around us and capture the humbling feeling that comes with the sight of Colorado’s majestic mountains.
